Slimbridge

At Slimbridge Wetland Centre you can have a taste of the wild, without having to get your feet muddy  - unless you want to! Get up close to rare and exotic birds, mammals and the largest collection of amphibians in the UK, set in the tranquil surroundings of our nature reserve. There’s something for all the family 364 days a year, whether you want to see the otters play, gaze at our huge flamingo flock, splash in the outdoor water play area, or relax and spot watervoles from the canoe safari before having afternoon tea. You can also hand feed the rarest goose in the world!

Your family can have a go at birdwatching at our South Lake Discovery Hide. It has all the equipment you need such as ID guides and binoculars and a telescope – and nice comfy seats!

Or head to Toad Hall and meet some amphibians including frogs, toads and salamanders at our daily talk and handling sessions.

If you have a youngster who loves nothing more than to have a good splash in puddles then your day won't be complete without a play at Welly Boot Land. We recommend taking a change of clothes or even swimsuits!

We also have a newly revamped playground at our Riverlife section featuring a tower and wobbly bridge and an indoor soft play area in the visitor centre.
